The Fern Club with Wild Hearts

The Fern Club is very proud to announce a series of outdoor workshops in collaboration with Wild Hearts. We are heading outdoors for many exciting new adventures. These sessions will be held at Ripley Castle in collaboration with Live For Today Adventures.

All our adventures are out in the woods, at The Ripley Castle Estate. We’re going to create magic together, play and laugh, slow down, move, make fire, use our hands, use our heads, and use our hearts. All threaded together in this beautiful woodland where we will get back in touch with nature, hear stories, learn new things, put our hands on the Earth and be a channel for creating something new that will both impact that Earth around us, but also leave us with a lingering feeling of an old fashioned, often forgotten connection.

The theme this month is Green Man Folklore: Whispering with the Trees. We’ll learn about what the Green Man is and the significance in our modern lives, how we can reconnect to that mighty spirit and to the enchantments of nature. We’ll learn about some of the trees and their histories. We’ll craft using materials that they provide to us.

The Fern Club with Wild Hearts workshops are a chance to reconnect with the natural world. Together each parent and child will have opportunity to explore the home tent and 5 wonderfully crafted areas. Coming to experience the natural world, reconnecting with each other and growing a love of learning through living.

We (Charlotte of Wild Hearts Photography and Lorna of The Fern Club) will lead the 3 hour workshop in the beautiful grounds of Ripley Castle. Bringing together life skills, crafts and movement based activities appropriate for families to rewild.

There will be several areas, which will present every parent and child an opportunity to learn together. Getting hands and heart involved as you follow the map to each area. There you can explore the earth crafts, look and listen to what your body can do and connect to the earth. There will be stories, challenges, movement and lots of laughter. Each family coming together to learn through experience.

The workshop will last 3 hours in total and will include; collecting supplies for lighting the fire, 5 different areas to learn new crafts and skills, a communal project to work together to create, a story around the fire, a special memento to take home, tree climbing and movement challenges… and so so much more.
